The \u2018Orientation Week\u2019, as it is called, seeks to do many things: by means of an integrated programme of worship, study, topical seminars and leisure time, it aims to welcome the nine new students and incorporate then into the life of the Institute; to \u2018form\u2019 that body of eighteen into a new community; to re-establish the rhythm of prayer, work and leisure which will sustain the students through the year ahead; and above all to \u2018orient\u2019 staff and students alike to their proper goal, followership and service of Christ, \u2018fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith\u2019.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_32843\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32843\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-32843 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/hillside.work\/sec\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Kinnoul-Trees.png\" alt=\"A path through the trees near Kinnoul.\" width=\"300\" height=\"219\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hillside.work\/sec\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Kinnoul-Trees.png 1422w, https:\/\/hillside.work\/sec\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Kinnoul-Trees-300x219.png 300w, https:\/\/hillside.work\/sec\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Kinnoul-Trees-800x583.png 800w, https:\/\/hillside.work\/sec\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Kinnoul-Trees-400x291.png 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-32843\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A path through the trees near Kinnoul<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Core SEI staff will be joined at various points through the week by the Chaplain, the Revd Canon Graham Taylor, and the Convenor of the Institute Council, the Rt Revd Kevin Pearson. Mr Nick Cooke FRSA, Secretary of the Scottish Pilgrim Routes Forum, will lead an evening symposium on \u2018Pilgrimage\u2019, and the Revd Richard Hall CF, Padre, Army Foundation College, a similar session on \u2018Army Chaplaincy\u2019. Mrs Ishbel Smith, founder of \u2018Heart In Mouth\u2019, an organisation that works with people in the Third Sector helping them with communication skills, will lead a morning on public speaking.
