{"id":70421,"date":"2021-10-27T10:45:00","date_gmt":"2021-10-27T09:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hillside.work\/sec\/staging\/pilgrimage-focuses-minds-on-cop26-says-rev-hall\/"},"modified":"2026-02-11T14:50:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-11T14:50:08","slug":"pilgrimage-focuses-minds-on-cop26-says-rev-hall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hillside.work\/sec\/staging\/pilgrimage-focuses-minds-on-cop26-says-rev-hall\/","title":{"rendered":"Pilgrimage focuses minds on COP26, says Rev Hall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Rev Diana Hall highlighted the virtues of pilgrimage as people walk to COP26, <\/strong><strong>on BBC Radio Scotland\u2019s \u2018Thought for the Day\u2019 this morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Over the past ten days, over 100 pilgrims have passed through Dunbar, where Ms Hall is Rector of St Anne\u2019s, on their way to the climate conference in Glasgow.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPilgrimage is an ancient practice,\u201d said Ms Hall. \u201cChristians and others have always walked long journeys to places of spiritual significance to deepen their connection with God and one another; and to learn more about their faith. It\u2019s a way to seek healing and to receive blessing; and in modern times walking has also become a form of protest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She continued: \u201cTaking a long walk with a purpose signifies a depth of commitment; bears witness to others; and opens up space for unhurried conversation, building solidarity with companions on the road.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me, time on the trail is space to meet with God.
