This week&#8217;s prayer is also available in both English and Gaelic.<\/p>\n<p>The letter states: \u201cWe pray in solidarity with those across Britain and Ireland and in solidarity with those across the world who face the challenge that the Covid-19 pandemic brings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Churches Together In England will also be continuing to pray each Sunday at 7pm and will be using the #prayersofhope to share the message on social media.<\/p>\n<p><u>Joint prayer from the denominations in Scotland<\/u><\/p>\n<p><em>We turn to you, our Father, for we need your help.<br \/>\n<\/em><em>Lord Jesus, as you have promised, be with us, whatever lies ahead,<br \/>\n<\/em><em>Strengthen us, Holy Spirit, as we face this together.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We pray for our world and our country,<br \/>\n<\/em><em>as coronavirus threatens our lives and our livelihood, leaving many in lockdown,<br \/>\n<\/em><em>while key workers continue, despite the risk.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We pray for government leaders at Westminster and Holyrood,<br \/>\n<\/em><em>responding to\u00a0 medical and scientific advice,<br \/>\n<\/em><em>making tough decisions for the wellbeing of all.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We pray for all who serve on the frontline in the NHS and in social care;<br \/>\n<\/em><em>facing increasing numbers, overstretched resources<br \/>\n<\/em><em>and distressing human need.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Bless those who are ill, those who are alone and afraid,<br \/>\n<\/em><em>those exhausted looking after their family, those worried for the vulnerable,<br \/>\n<\/em><em>those fearful for their finances, those shut in to their fears.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Thank you for those who have returned from retirement to help,<br \/>\n<\/em><em>or joined the volunteer army.<br \/>\n<\/em><em>Thank you for those working:<br \/>\n<\/em><em>to manufacture needed resources,<br \/>\n<\/em><em>to find a vaccine,<br \/>\n<\/em><em>to keep in contact with the isolated,<br \/>\n<\/em><em>to encourage others at this time.<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Have mercy on us, O Lord.<br \/>\n<\/em><em>Give us faith, hope and love and hear our prayers,<br \/>\n<\/em><em>in Jesus\u2019 name.
