Please note that this week there will be no Gaelic translation of the prayer.<\/p>\n<p>In a joint message, church leaders in Scotland said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.\u2019 The words of the Gospel resonate in the hearts of all who have searched for spiritual sustenance in a dry land. They are words spoken to those who searched for Jesus and could not, at first, find him. They are words spoken to those who are \u2018looking for Jesus\u2019. On finding him, Jesus speaks to them of the \u2018bread from heaven\u2019 and in turn they ask: \u2018Sir, give us this bread always.\u2019 In response, Jesus says: \u2018I am the bread of life.\u2019 (John 6: 24-35)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is to those who continue to seek the presence of Jesus in a dry land that he offers himself as the \u2018bread from heaven\u2019. We stand with those who sing: \u2018Bread of Heaven, Bread of heaven, Feed me till my want is o\u2019er.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We pray:<\/p>\n<p><em>Gracious Father,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Who gives to us bread from heaven,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Hear us when we hunger<\/em><br \/>\n<em>And cry out to the One who is the bread of life.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Renew us by your gift and restore us by your presence.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Lord, in your mercy,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Hear our prayer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Gracious Father,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Who gives to us bread from heaven,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Hear the cry of all who hunger this day<\/em><br \/>\n<em>And who long for the gifts that renew and restore life.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Renew our concern for your Creation and for all who inhabit the earth.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Lord, in your mercy,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Hear our prayer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Gracious Father,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Who gives to us bread from heaven,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Hear us when we thirst<\/em><br \/>\n<em>And long for living water.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>May all who thirst drink deep from the rivers of living water.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Lord, in your mercy,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Hear our prayer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Gracious Father,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Who gives to us bread from heaven,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Hear the cries of those who long for clean water<\/em><br \/>\n<em>And who live in parched lands.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>May all who thirst find living water for daily life.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Lord, in your mercy,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Hear our prayer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Gracious Father,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Who gives to us bread from heaven,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Hear our cry to the One<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Who is the bread of life:<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Give us this bread always. <\/em><br \/>\n<em>Lord, in your mercy,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Hear our prayer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Signed by:<\/p>\n<p>Most Rev.
