Please note that this week there will be no Gaelic translation of the prayer.<\/p>\n<p>In a joint message, church leaders in Scotland said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201c&#8217;Beware of Imitations!&#8217; We are, no doubt, aware of the saying and the implication that we should steer clear of that which is a copy of the real thing. Indeed, in many cases that is wise advice as certain imitations are but a pale shadow of the real thing. On the other hand, we see how a child learns by example and by imitating the behaviour of others. If the example is a good one, the behaviour that follows as a result of imitation will likewise be good.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the Letter of Paul to the Ephesians, we are urged to become imitators of the good. Indeed, we are urged to \u2018be imitators of God\u2019. As those who, by the grace of God, have received the gift and seal of the Holy Spirit, we are called to \u2018live in love, as Christ loved us\u2019. As we do so, we become \u2018imitators of God\u2019 by the way in which we forgive others, \u2018as God in Christ has forgiven\u2019 us. (Ephesians 4: 25-5:2)\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We pray:<\/p>\n<p><em>Gracious God,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>In Christ you offer to us forgiveness<\/em><br \/>\n<em>And you seal us by your Spirit.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Grant to us that we might become<\/em><br \/>\n<em>True imitators of the way of love revealed in Christ<\/em><br \/>\n<em>And so represent you to the world.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Lord, in your mercy,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Hear our prayer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Gracious God,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>In Christ you offer to us forgiveness<\/em><br \/>\n<em>And you seal us by your Spirit.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Grant us strength<\/em><br \/>\n<em>To put aside all that does not reflect your life<\/em><br \/>\n<em>And to learn the ways of kindness and forgiveness.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Lord, in your mercy,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Hear our prayer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Gracious God,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>In Christ you offer to us forgiveness<\/em><br \/>\n<em>And you seal us by your Spirit.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Grant us wisdom<\/em><br \/>\n<em>To always build up that which is good<\/em><br \/>\n<em>And to bring healing in a broken and divided world.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Lord, in your mercy,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Hear our prayer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Gracious God,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>In Christ you offer to us forgiveness<\/em><br \/>\n<em>And you seal us by your Spirit.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Grant us integrity <\/em><br \/>\n<em>To always speak the truth<\/em><br \/>\n<em>And to offer words that are gracious to those who hear.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Lord, in your mercy,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Hear our prayer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Gracious God,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>In Christ you offer to us forgiveness<\/em><br \/>\n<em>And you seal us by your Spirit.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Grant to us that, at the last,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>We have become true imitators of the way of love revealed in Christ<\/em><br \/>\n<em>And so represented you to the world.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Lord, in your mercy,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Hear our prayer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Signed by:<\/p>\n<p>Most Rev.
