{"id":71809,"date":"2025-01-29T09:42:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-29T09:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hillside.work\/sec\/staging\/miriams-sisters-deborahs-daughters-a-short-course-in-lent-2025-from-the-sei\/"},"modified":"2025-01-29T09:42:00","modified_gmt":"2025-01-29T09:42:00","slug":"miriams-sisters-deborahs-daughters-a-short-course-in-lent-2025-from-the-sei","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hillside.work\/sec\/staging\/miriams-sisters-deborahs-daughters-a-short-course-in-lent-2025-from-the-sei\/","title":{"rendered":"Miriam&#8217;s Sisters, Deborah&#8217;s Daughters &#8211; a short course in Lent 2025 from the SEI"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The latest in the series of online short courses provided by the Scottish Episcopal Institute will take place throughout Lent, exploring a fresh approach to church leadership in the current times of change.<br><br>The course, titled \u201cMiriam&#8217;s Sisters, Deborah&#8217;s Daughters: When Women Lead the Way\u201d\u00a0will be led by the Rev Liz Crumlish, Priest-in-Charge at St Oswald\u2019s, Maybole and IME 2 Officer and Associate Tutor at the Institute.\u00a0It is made up of six\u00a0roughly\u00a025-minute video\u2019s with questions for reflection or discussion.<br><br>The course will consider how different times demand a different kinds of leadership, involving imagination and creativity \u2013 gifts and qualities exhibited by numerous women in scripture. It reflects on the experiences of various women including Miriam, Deborah, Esther, Ruth, Mary the mother of Jesus, Mary of Bethany and the woman at the well, and finds inspiration and guidance for today in their practices of accompaniment, accountability, spirituality, communal discernment, provision and creativity.
