Amanda Seed

Amanda Seed is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of St Andrews. She studies the evolutionary origins of cognition, by conducting experiments with a variety of different species, including birds, primates and humans, on diverse topics such as causal reasoning, episodic thinking, social cognition and executive functions, currently funded by an ERC starting grant. She is Director of the ‘Living Links to Human Evolution Centre’ at Edinburgh Zoo, where capuchin and squirrel monkeys are studied in full public view. Amanda is a regular contributor to science communication efforts, at Living Links, science festivals and in schools.
