Asimina Kazakidi

Dr Asimina Kazakidi is a Lecturer in Biofluid Mechanics at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, and an awarded Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellow. Her research involves the modelling and simulation of complex real-world physiological and biofluid mechanics problems, such as arterial modelling for the initiation of atherosclerosis, models related to congenital heart disease, and heamodynamic approaches for understanding childhood obesity. As a Research Associate and Fellow, she worked at Imperial College London, and the Foundation for Research & Technology Hellas, Greece. She has a PhD from the Aeronautics Department at Imperial College London and an MSc from the Bioengineering Department, also at Imperial College. Her BSc was in Physics.
