She oversees a range of programmes, including Live Literature which brings authors to schools, libraries and other not-for-profit organisations and reaches approximately 50,000 people across every local authority in Scotland. She also has overall responsibility for the writer development programme which supports professional writers at all stages of their career through opportunities such as the New Writers Awards, the Ignite Fellowship and the Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship. Young writers are also catered to, with a range of initiatives, one particularly popular one being StoryCon, an annual creative writing convention for young writers and illustrators.

Caitrin is interested in creativity and education, and ensuring that everyone is represented in literature and the arts.
