Kathryn is a Lecturer in evolutionary biology at the University of Glasgow’s Institute of Biodiversity, Animal Health & Comparative Medicine. Her research programme is motivated by a fascination to understand how local environments and genetic history promote the amazing variation and biodiversity we see in the natural world. Kathryn’s work is empirical, focusing on species complexes of fishes, amphibians and reptiles. Ecological and evolutionary research is important for understanding and predicting how biodiversity might adapt to environmental challenges. This is especially key for advocacy and policy on the interlinks between biodiversity, environment, health, and climate change.
