Megan Coyer

Dr Megan Coyer is a Lecturer in English Literature and Deputy Director of the Medical Humanities Research Centre at the University of Glasgow, where she convenes the Intercalated BSc in Medical Humanities. She specialises in nineteenth-century literature and medical culture, with a particular interest in the Scottish context. Her first monograph, Literature and Medicine in the Nineteenth-Century Periodical Press: Blackwood’s Edinburgh Magazine, 1817-1858, was published in 2017, and with Dr David Shuttleton, she edited Scottish Medicine and Literary Culture, 1726-1832 (2014). She is currently editing James Hogg’s Contributions to Fraser’s Magazine for Town and Country, as part of the Stirling/South Carolina Edition of the Collected Works of James Hogg. She recently became a mother and is interested in supporting parents in the workplace.
