Nancy Lombard

Dr Nancy Lombard’s research, in the main, looks at violence, gender and young people. Her findings have generated policy change and investment in gender equality programmes across health, education and the voluntary sector. She is currently leading a Scottish Government study looking at women’s experiences of the criminal justice system.

Dr Lombard is an Associate Director at CRFR and also Research Lead at GCU having curated a new Gender Research Group that offers interdisciplinary membership. She sits on the editorial board of the internationally recognised Violence Against Women journal and the advisory board of the Journal of Gender Based Violence. She was a Core Expert for the European Network of Experts in Gender Equality (ENEGE) before Brexit and continues to provide consultation and training on gender equality.

Dr Lombard is a disability advocate and community activist. She lives in Glasgow with her partner, five children, three cats and new puppy. She loves camping, walking, theatre, films, rock music and relishes the opportunity to sit and read a good book.
