Zahra Rattray

Dr Zahra Rattray is a pharmacist with a background in pharmaceutical sciences research having worked as a practising pharmacist in the clinical setting, the pharmaceutical industry and academia (Yale School of Medicine, Manchester Pharmacy School).

She is currently a Chancellor’s Research Fellow and Lecturer in Translational Pharmaceutics at the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences (SIPBS). Her lab is interested in developing new tools for the evaluating the safety of next-generation medicines. She is also interested in understanding the role of nuclear transport in cancer aggressiveness with a view to developing new chemotherapies. Her research team uses an interdisciplinary approach to study these subjects.

Zahra is lead for pharmacy public engagement and widening access within SIPBS. Zahra is looking forward to working with YAS members to inspire the next-generation of pharmacists from across Scotland and make health knowledge accessible to all.
