Ed Roberts is currently a junior group leader at the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research in Glasgow. His research focuses on how anti-tumour immune responses are generated and maintained and specifically looks at how the tumour interferes with this. Prior to moving to Glasgow Ed was a postdoctoral fellow in San Francisco and did his PhD in Cambridge both looking at immunology and its interaction with tumour development. Ed has also worked as a youth worker with LGBTQ youth and young carers and as a volunteer support worker in an AIDS hospice which developed his interests in how social and economic factors affect health outcomes.
