Lilach is Reader, and deputy head of area, in Parasitology, at the University of Glasgow, and a Research group leader at the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Parasitology. She is a molecular biologist who study the parasites causing toxoplasmosis and malaria. She is interested in how different cells work (for example human cells vs parasite cells). She explores how those differences may inform the development of new therapy strategies – either to combat parasitic diseases, or to use unique parasite qualities to develop synthetic biology solutions for other diseases.
