Manal is a scholar of accounting and finance. She worked as a Lecturer in Syrian universities for over ten years with total teaching experience of 24 years. Dr Khatib has done a great deal of research in finance and accounting. She was the head of the accounting department at both private and public universities in Syria. She was a Visiting Scholar at Abertay University for one year. She is now a part time lecturer at The University of St Andrews.
Manal has had dedicated her time since 2015 to attempting to ease the hardship of Syrian refugees settling in Scotland, working with organizations such as Amina (The Muslim Women’s Resource Centre), Angus Refugee Care and the NHS.
