Dr Mehul Malik is an Associate Professor of Physics at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. He leadsphy an experimental research group that studies the quantum nature of light. Dr Malik is primarily interested in the entanglement of structured photons in space and time, and their application in quantum technologies for communication, imaging, and computation. Above all else, he is driven by a desire to better understand the universe that we as humans can perceive, as well as the bits that we cannot! In addition to physics, Dr Malik is interested in exploring connections between Science and the Arts, addressing problems facing the international mobility of academic researchers, and increasing gender diversity in STEM.
