Dr Nadimul Faisal is a Professor of Surface Engineering and Micromechanics at Robert Gordon University (RGU), Aberdeen. He specialises in micromechanics and surface engineering, instrumented mechanical testing, and neutron diffraction strain analysis. In the past, Dr Faisal worked at Alfaisal University, University of Strathclyde, Heriot-Watt University and International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI). He is Member of IMechE, IMMM and CEng, and Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA). He is EPSRC Full College member. He is a founder & director of start-up technology company, d-Finger Ltd (or d.FL), i.e. developing sensing methods to digitise runway surface conditions.
