Pinar Aksu

Pinar Aksu is a Human Rights and Advocacy Coordinator, a theatre maker and a PhD student. With years of experience, Pinar works with an integration network in Glasgow, coordinating projects for welcoming asylum seekers and refugees in the community. Pinar uses Theatre of the Oppressed methods with Active Inquiry to create social change and with World Spirit Theatre to create plays to raise awareness of migration and problems people face in the system. Pinar is also Unesco RILA PhD scholarship award holder at University of Glasgow, her research is ‘Art and Law in migration: art practices in social change and access to justice in migration’.

Pinar has been campaigning to end detention centres and is involved with anti-racism movements. Pinar is currently on the board of Right to Remain.
