Rebecca Warren

Rebecca is a teacher of physics at St George’s School for Girls in Edinburgh. She actively promotes STEM engagement through pupil-led research projects, digital exchanges, after-school clubs and outreach events, and is passionate about getting more girls interested in physics and engineering. As part of the programme ‘Researchers in Schools’ Rebecca completed a secondment to the Department for Education, where she authored a report on the retention and recruitment of STEM teachers worldwide.

Prior to teaching, Rebecca was a post-doctoral fellow in biophysics at Karolinska Institute in Sweden. She was educated at the Universities of Edinburgh, Oxford and Glasgow, and was a visiting researcher at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her research interests have included radiocarbon dating offsets, microrheology and cochlear mechanics.
