Simson is currently a senior product development scientist at a Glasgow-based medical device manufacturer. His research activities entail integration of novel technologies and processes to facilitate the manufacturer of medical devices used during the treatment of aortic disease.
Interests include: introduction of sustainable materials, improving process performance to reduce waste, reducing environmental impact, development of broader materials science knowledge within a good manufacturing practice business and promotion of STEM.
Simson gained an Msci in Pure and Applied Chemistry and PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Strathclyde between 2006-2015.
Following academic studies, Simson has worked within a variety of scientific roles within manufacturing, from low volume to fast moving consumer goods. He is now focusing on application of industrial science to tackle national and global problems within healthcare, whilst improve product outreach demographic.
