In and around Edinburgh

There are lots of fun events and activities taking place in and around Edinburgh for people to enjoy over Hogmanay, along with official city centre events.

Below are a selection of the best events to help you enjoy the best of Edinburgh:

  • New Year’s Day Triathlon 2023 - Edinburgh's Hogmanay

    New Year’s Day Triathlon 2023

    Sunday 1 January 2023

    12noon – Adult Participants £59.00 registration

    11am – Children’s Duathlon (8-15yrs) – Entry £8.00 on-the-day

New Year’s Day Triathlon is a fixture in the programme at Edinburgh Hogmanay having been there since day one. This is edition 26 and over the years we have welcomed many ordinary people to the sport of triathlon as well as several Olympic and world level athletes.

However, the point of the event is to get people involved so the swim is relatively short 400 metres in the Royal Commonwealth Pool, followed by 12 miles on the bike with three laps of Holyrood Park and finishing with a run of one lap and a massive smile.

We have a kids event (11am) to support the main race and that is a short run bike run race all on closed roads; entries for that are taken on the day but for the main event entries are at, www.entrycentral.com/NYDtriathlon

For those who feel doing it as an individual might be too much then a relay team of three is the option.
