The Access Audit checklist is a comprehensive document developed to assess the existing ease of access to any size of church building. In many situations for smaller or simple sites, it will ask for information that is not relevant and sections of the form can be disregarded. However, it is important to consider all aspects of your church with a critical view, and professional assistance may be required in making the assessments, which could be provided by an architect, specialist access consultant or a member of a local access panel. Issues raised through the audit should then form the basis for areas to physically improve and develop strategies to make your church as accessible as reasonably possible.
